| The screening went great. It helps when 1/3 of the 70 people
in the audience are your friends or family.
Three honest-to-goodness Hollywood actors were present: June Lockhart
("Lassie," "Lost in Space"); Christopher McDonald
("Quiz Show," "Happy Gilmore" "Thelma and
Louise") and Vincent Spano ("Alive" "Indian
Summer" "Rumble Fish"). Vincent had a short screened
that was hilarious. He brought a second short, too, that was excellent.
He loved "Johnny" (or at least said he did). He also thought
Alyson was great and "loved all the weirdos." June Lockhart
told my friend, Lee, who helped run the fest that we should copy
it to 35mm and "submit it to the Academy."
"For what?" I asked.
"The Oscars," he said.
"Oh, so she's nuts."
He swears she was serious, so maybe it's Lee who is nuts. Christopher
McDonald left to go to another screening, so I didn't get his opinion.
Big laughs throughout, but tops to "Johnny 3:16," Chuck
with ax, Chuck at the small cabin, Flu, Shrub and Sue, particularly
when the moon is out and she's still droning on.
